Jamie Baum (The Jamie Baum Septet+, Quintet, Quartet), a NYC flutist/composer, Sunnyside Records Artist and Guggenheim Fellow, has toured in over 35 countries, performing at many festivals and other prestigious venues. She has worked with a wide range of iconic artists including Richie Beirach, Dave Douglas, Randy Brecker, Roy Hargrove, Kenny Barron, Louis Cole, Donald Brown, Wadada Leo Smith, and Anthony Braxton. Her seventh CD as a bandleader, "What times Are These,” received a glowing, five-star review in DownBeat Magazine and made several “Best Albums” of 2024 lists. Baum toured as a US Jazz Ambassador from 1999 to 2003, followed by several years of individual, US Embassy-sponsored global performances. Nominated by the Jazz Journalists Association 13 times in the “Flutist of Year“ category, she has also placed in the DownBeat polls annually since 1998. Ms. Baum is on the faculty at Manhattan School of Music’s JazzArts program and is an Altus Flutes/KHS America clinician.

Support for this event has been provided by Resonant Motion’s donors and the Middletown Commission on the Arts. This appearance of Altus Flutes artist Jamie Baum has been made possible, in part, through an educational grant from the KHS America Academic Alliance and Altus Flutes. Jamie performs exclusively on Altus Flutes.
