Event Details
This performance will be an intimate afternoon of classic jazz standards, reimagined through the chemistry of a guitar and tenor saxophone duo. Expect timeless melodies, spontaneous improvisation, and a celebration of the Great American Songbook.
Abe Ovadia is a leading jazz guitarist and educator based in New York and New Jersey, known for his soulful sound and dynamic improvisation. He holds degrees from Berklee College of Music and NYU, and has performed at top venues across the country. Abe is also a respected music educator, teaching at Fairleigh Dickinson University and leading clinics and workshops nationwide.
Ralph Lalama is an acclaimed tenor saxophonist and longtime fixture on the New York jazz scene, recognized for his powerful tone and deep connection to the jazz tradition. A veteran of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra and Joe Lovano’s Nonet, he brings decades of performance and recording experience. Ralph also serves as a dedicated educator, teaching and SUNY Purchase.
