Like axolotls? Or want to know what they even are? The Amphibian and Reptile Center will be bringing live axolotls to the Hubbard Room for a special Axolotl Spring Break. Learn around about them, and meet some in person. 

Meet our new baby chicks! Rent the Egg's Hatch the Chicken program is partnering with Russell Library to help us incubate and then hatch chicken eggs. The eggs will be delivered on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026.

Join us for a special storytime featuring Bethany O'Brien, author of the picture book series about Jonathon the UConn Husky and a very special furry guest. O'Brien will read The Lucky Husky, her first book in the series.

Mystery! is a Russell Library-run book club for mystery lovers. The book group discusses a new mystery novel every month.

Join us for a morning of building with blocks, just for babies and toddlers.  Young children will be able to enjoy building with duplos, and other large blocks.  

Get those brains calm and those bodies moving! We focus on mindfulness and movement in this yoga session for kids and caregivers. We will begin the session with a mindfulness-themed picture book.
